The Nocturne in E-flat major, Op.9, No.2 is very possibly the most famous work ever penned by Chopin. In spite of the many tasteless renditions to which it has been subjected over the years (a great many of them on disc, and by performers of some stature), it remains a work of great charm.
  5. Zulkishura says:
I have four or five versions of Chopin's Nocturnes in my CD library and this is definitely the one I prefer. As every Chopin admirer will consider, I believe, there is an incredible elegance to all of Chopin's music, and certainly in the Nocturnes, that is indefinable, at once sensual and very spiritual/5(13).

  7. Togis says:
Considering Ignaz Pleyel’s complete oeuvre, his works for solo piano are not so numerous as the oeuvres by Haydn, Wanhal, Kozeluch, Clementi, Mozart or Dussek. Pleyel’s varied piano chamber music (48 piano trios and 15 violin sonatas (violin & piano)) proves his preference for this genre, obviously an inspiration during his youth.
  8. Arashigis says:
Chopin based his mazurkas on the traditional Polish folk dance, also called the mazurka (or "mazur" in Polish). However, while he used the traditional mazurka as his model, he was able to transform his mazurkas into an entirely new genre, one that became known as a "Chopin genre".
