Feb 20,  · The good doctor, Allan Slutsky, is also the man behind "Standing in the Shadows of Motown." The only transcription book of his I've seen - and I snapped it up immediately - is "The Art of Playing Rhythm and Blues, Vol. 1 - the 50s and 60s." It's got interesting historical pieces to complement the transcriptions. And the cassette's really helpful.

First time on CD! Volumes 11 and 12 in Stag-O-Lee's Exotic Blues & Rhythm series. Originally released on limited edition 10" vinyl. Enjoy amazing and danceable tunes from the late '50s and early '60s - a handful of popcorn dancefloor smashes, a few grinding tittyshakers, awesome rhythm & blues - most of them with an exotic twist!

Raunchy from Tulsa, Ok "Susie Q" was played by AFVN radio in Vietnam in '68 when I was there in the Army. Love it still. Love it still. While in Vietnam, I got to go on R&R to Singapore and went on a city tour that stopped at a huge huge department store & I bought the album at a record shop in the dept. store.

The s marked the birth of rock’n’roll. From big band tracks to jazz standards, until midway through the 20th century, music was a resolutely parent-friendly zone. But then everything.
